Nordics leading Gallery Forsblom is celebrating it's 40th anniversary this year and at the same time opening it's newly renovated location in Stockholm. For Gallery Forsblom and the main sponsor KM Nordic Invest reason enough to invite selected guests to an exclusive preview of the highly acclaimed Artist Ai Weiwei. As an admirer of the concept-artist it was a great honour for me to support the event. The exhibition includes one of my favourite works “Dropping a Han Dynasty Urn”. The historical density surrounding Ai’s act is juxtaposed with the artist’s confrontational and unapologetic blank stare, resulting in a gesture that not only unsettles the status quo, but also subverts instituted notions of culture and the role and form of art in contemporary society.
